Early morning bird song, Tokyo Japan (1 Viewer)

This morning about 0430+0500 I heard a bird I have never heard before. 3 note song, I believe it is (English notes) Eb D...... F. 1 octave above middle C on the piano.

If I were writing this, I would put 8th, quarter, 8th notes on the pitches respectively. (da daaaa, da) (Might be a trill on the first note) I have lived here in W Tokyo for 13 years and have never heard this bird.

Any ideas?

hi
I find it particularly tough to imagine what you describe, and I don't know what birdsounds you know in Japan. Your 13 years there could mean a lot, but not per se. Most early morning sounds I would think belong to -provided there is some green in the area- Japanese Bush Warbler (could be described as 3 noted), another candidate may be Blue Rock Thrush...common also in less green areas, song especially at dusk and dawn. I don't remember the pattern of those warbles..it sounded thrush-like to my Western European ear.
sorry i can't offer more than that.... Nice puzzle though : ) Could you maybe reproduce it on a virtual piano-site or something?

cheers,
Gerben
