Hi, I had this binoculars for two years. I can summarize pros & cons as folowing:
Pros:
-Very good CA correction, on par with best roofs with fluoride glass
-Nice sweetspot 85-90% of FOV
-Very good sharpness
-Excellent Brightness
-quite good ergonomics for such a huge binocular
-strong construction of external focusing bridge, this increase durability
-feel of professional equipment
Cons:
-Weight, make problem with portability of binocular, mainly on long trips by foot
-You need binocular harness strap, because it is a pain, to carry it on neck
-Outer lenses is not so easy to clean as in binos with hydrophobic coating
-eyepiece lenses fogs up easily during winter
-it does not have Docter logo with cute owl 3
To sum it up, Nobilem is very good binocular, but has some drawbacks related to weight and not up to date features like hydrophobic coating...
It is a piece of best German binocular workmanship of 2000-2010 decade, but probably cannot compete with the latest offerings like abbe-koenig "powered" SLC and HT. Nobilem has standard FOV 110m, (110m was top level when Nobilem was introduced, but current top level moves to 125m), and regarding transmission I would say it somewhere betwen 90-95%, as my feeling is that HT is a tad brighter. What impressed me most on this binocular is the picture, that it provides, and mainly fact, that CA correction was super without use of Fluoride glass. If I can advice you, try to find a shop were you can compare it with Conquest HD 8x56 and Docter ED-OH 8x56, as these are direct competitors of Nobilem in its price league. But to be honest, I am still interested in Nobilem 10x50, but I need to try it.
