Is it still correct to use parus caeruleus for the blue tit or are both scientific names possible?

Alfred

A look at the Avibase page shows that of recently updated checklists, Parus is still used by African bird club and Birdlife, while Clements, BOU, and IOC use Cyanistes.

Many thanks for this very informative answer, Niels

In the future I will use the Avibase page to get answers corresponding to nomenclature.

Thanks

Alfred
