Cornish Choughs (1 Viewer)

Chris Oates

Why does a Black-headed Gull have a brown head...
Went looking for Firecrests but didn't find any, whilst having boiled egg & cheese sarnies for lunch I heard what I thought was a crow being strangled - twas a Chough calling to it's mate - I've waited years to see one and amazingly they moved down the coast with me, turned around and came back with me.
Typical Crows they seem to really enjoy flying but they didn't do the upside down tricks the others were doing.

As I go to Anglesey quite a lot I have seen quite a few Choughs-I think they are a beautiful bird. However, I've never seen a boiled egg & cheese sarnie-must try it (sounds nice).
The flight shot is excellent-what set up did you use??

Ideal little thing for birding as it weighs nothing but has a 500mm zoom, it locks focus and shoots very quickly for a mini digital.
I didn't think at the time to look for leg rings and despite never getting close to them I was able to get them from the camera - they were 1 and 2 year old males from the Lizard which had moved to Lands End.
If they had allowed me to get closer they could have discovered the delights of egg 'n cheese sarnies.
