Well my bird feeder constantly has a squirrel eating the bird seed and chasing the birds away. Well yesterday one of the pair of resident cooper's Hawks came and caught and ate him. it's now been a full day without any squirrels. Now i just need im to come over when the next one infiltrates my yard. The squirrels are introduced grey squirrels so I don't feel so bad for them. Well the Cooper's hawk is actually on my telephone pole right now staring at starlings in the Arbutus tree. Maybe with luck a few less starlings also?

How often does a Buzzard, Sparrowhawk or any BoP get one for lunch here. They are fast little blighters.

Anyone know a way to attract Starling-eating birds, rodents, fish and snakes?

Smear them with a little peanut butter or similar. It should slow them down so the predators get used to an easy food source. It may take them a while to get used to the taste/odour of the spread though, as this is an aquired taste for many predators. Try adding some other ingredients in first, eg like breadcrumbs for the fish or smelly pieces of stale bread or other leftovers. You may even get the squirrels in as your top predator, before the hawks get them.

There must not be much of a decent food source for the squirrels in your area. I have literally 10-15 squirrels on any given day in my yard (unless a Red Tailed Hawk is flying around) but they leave my feeders alone thankfully. Maybe it's the acorns and black walnuts that keep them busy. :t:
