I bought the TC-E3ED 3x without really knowing how it performs. I was looking for something to snap birds in flight or passerines in close cover, or just for those shots where there is no time to set up digiscope and bird is too far for unenhanced CP4500. I checked out the eagleeye 5x product and did not liked it (no light, hard to focus, too heavy/camera front heavy)....
Anyway the 3x is great and does just what i need. Especially impressive is the performance of the autofocus with the lens on. One thing - you need a hood for the camera lcd - i got the eagleeye extendaview, which works fine...
A few shots in my "gallery" - handheld point and click: http://www.birdforum.net/pp_gallery/showgallery.php/cat/500/ppuser/11008 - these shots taken in very dull cloudy irish weather at speeds around 1/500, F= 5.1.
