In mid-Vermont just past back yard in thick brush adjoining forest.
This bird just arrived (or just started singing) early to mid May. I have not been able to see it in the thick brush since it only arrived just after the leaves fully out.
It's distinctive song sounds almost like a Common Yellowthroat "wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty" but I am used to hearing the Yellowthroat with the accent on the first syllable, and this has a strong accent on the 2nd syllable. I have heard the same thing in past years with the same accent also.
Is this likely just a slight variation of the Yellowthroat song, or is there another bird that better fits this song?
