Common crane in Dorset? (1 Viewer)

We were walking around the Tarrant Rushton Airfield on Tuesday 14th January and I'm pretty sure I saw a common crane flying past. Unfortunately it wasn't close enough for a photo. It seems like a strange time of year to see one, so could I be mistaken?

Given the increasing UK population & there is now a healthy population in neighbouring Somerset it's certainly possible but with the limited information impossible to say what you did actually see.

Nothing particularly wrong with the time of year but Cranes are still quite rare in Dorset so agree with Aeshna, it could have been a crane but very difficult for us to say anything more concrete
