Owl-obsessed Birder

Just got back from a fantastic day of birding. Despite being right in the city centre, this park is surprisingly huge and offers a variety of habitats—woodlands, open fields, and even some wetlands.
Caught two proud 'parents' (Pond Herons) showing off their new strollers in the middle of the park. No babies, just two herons claiming their territory.

spotted a Red-whiskered Bulbul perched on a rhododendron bush. The red on its face matched the flowers perfectly.

Also spotted an Oriental Magpie-Robin and a Masked Laughingthrush, but they flew off too quickly for me to get a photo. The Black-faced Laughingthrush looks quite interesting—its black face even has a bit of an owl-like appearance!
(Sorry for the kinda crappy phone pics! I blurred out the faces of people walking by to keep their privacy safe.)
