Chicago, IL USA: Confirming Hawk ID Oct. 13 (1 Viewer)

Hello!
I wanted to submit this raptor to double check. I identified this bird as a Cooper's Hawk. Looking through ebird, I noticed that others identified it as a juvenile Northern Goshawk. I was wondering which is correct and if the pale eyebrow is the best way to distinguish a goshawk. Thanks!

More Pics

Here are a few more. I didn't get any of the raptor's tail.

Were you in Chicago when you took these pictures?

Maybe I should ask instead where this bird was located when you took these pictures?;)

I'll go along with juv. Cooper's. I think that a juvenile Goshawk would have a more pronounced supercillium than this bird has. The juvenile Goshawks pictured in Wheeler's "Raptor's of Western North America" have larger superciliums. Its Tarsii also look too small.

Thanks

Thanks for all the help and detailed responses. This information will help me a lot in the future! It appears that the other report was not confirmed.
