Chaffinch? Gold finch? (1 Viewer)

Arcy
Hello,

My small garden has more trees in it: a walnut tree, a mirobolam tree and a fir tree and in them a lot of gold finches are singing and playing. their bellies are golden, are they chaffinches or gold finches, please? And are there any pictures on birdforum so I can recognize this wonderful little bird?

Thank you for your kind help!

Chaffinch

Hi, Robin!

It looks like a Chaffinch. but of course there are over 60 species of Chaffinch and mine has a yellow belly, as I said... but I cannot find a picture and thus identify the exact name of the species... and they sing so nicely!

Thanks, Robin!

Whilst there are many members of the finch family there is only one Chaffinch that will visit your garden. If you don't think any of the photos in the links I posted is the bird you saw perhaps you could take a photo and post it here.

Thanks, Robin, that is what I am going to do. Actually this lovely bird is quite common here...

Chaffinch & Goldfinch

Here you are mate, I just took these pictures from my living room window today
They're terrific little birds to have around.

Dear Tanny,

I think this is a Chaffinch we are talking about, although the belly is somehow yellow. I shall try to post pictures soon. In the meantime let me congratulate you for your pictures... I liked the Chaffinch best of all!

Regards from Bucharest!
