Central Texas, USA - Help identifying bird by call (1 Viewer)

For a couple nights now, around 10-11pm, I've been hearing what I originally thought was a street cat meowing outside my door. Tonight, I decided to investigate, and not only was there no cat, the "meowing" was louder and more resonant than a cat could make. It was also coming from a tall tree across the street.

I am assuming it to be a bird because it only calls for a short while each night. It's call sounds a like a young woman loudly speaking (not yelling): "Meow?...[pause]...meow?" over and over.

Any ideas? Thank you all ahead of time!

Edit: I've lived in this house for 22 years and it doesn't sound like any bird I've heard in my city.
