Canada x Graylag Hybrid? (1 Viewer)

Saw this at a city park walking as a pair with a canada goose. I had seen a graylag at this park months ago and had read they can hybridize.
What do you think?

I wonder: had you really seen a greylag goose , or a domestic goose- doemstic geese are either descendants of greylag or descendants of swan goose or mixtures from the domestic forms of both these species (hybrids of these are fertile) .

your hybrid bird looks as it it has an european domestic goose (wild ancestor greylag goose) as a parent.
the other parent certainly is canada goose

Hello,

thanks for the new picture and the fast reaction!

The new picture shows a domestic Greylag with Swan Goose influence.
Bad for a Canada Goose hybrid is
  • complete lack of dark at bill tip
  • really broad whte end of the tail
Distinct pale area at the cheeks and swollen base to the bill are signs of Swan Goose influence. See here and thanks to Jörn again:
