And is it too much to hope that something will be done about the hunters, presumning they can be identified by the video?
Could individuals or organisations take action against the Maltese government for failing to uphold the law, I'm thinking of (for example) the German authorities who put time and money into protecting their Lesser Spotted Eagles only to have one of those very birds shot down?
Or even more simple, something along the lines of civil actions?
We file all incidents as official complaints with the (Maltese) police who present them to the public prosecutor if concrete evidence is available. In the case of the hunter picking up the Marsh Harriers we had our video (and stills from it) digitally improved by a friendly TV station and the police are hopeful of an identification and charges being pressed.
Other hunters have been charged as a result of our statements.
