hi there, these bino's can be bought for 80 on ebay. has anyone else got these? are they any good? have you had any problems?

i recieved them today. i tried them out and they were brilliant! clear, sharp, bright and colourful, even though it was a cloudy day.

Hey there,

I too got a Bushnell Trophy 10x42 roof prism. I actually wanted Natureviews, but my friend got these by mistake. But I am not unhappy! The images are bright and crisp, although they are kind of heavy. But its a great buy.

Hi i just bought some Bushnell Trophy 10x42 Binoculars

Hi i just bought some Bushnell Trophy 10x42 Binoculars on e.bay for £48 including postage, i feel much better now i've seen some good reviews, a few weeks ago i bought some bushnell 16x50 powerview and they are clear but like Tero and ceasar told me they will be very jerky, so they told me to get some 8x42 and a friend from sheffield rspb told me the same or 10x42 so i went for these and hopefully i will be satisfied with them and thanks again to all who gave me advice like Tero and ceasar thanks guys and i would like any advice or help if anyone has any with these Binoculars many thank. from wayne from sheffield uk

Yep i got a pair a while ago for £49 & to honest i dont think you can get a better pair for that value ?
Trouble is they make my other bins unusable now , even for the slight use i had intended for them , for that reason i wont be trying out anybodys posh bins :))

I am thinking about buying a less expensive binocular for a knock around. I want a 10x that is waterproof and have been considering the Trophy. I would like to hear from anyone who can comment on these. The features and specs seem very good (could be lighter) but how do they compare to the Nikon Monarch or other mid-price bins? These can be had for half the price of the Monarchs.

Features/specs:
10x42, Center Focus, Roof, BaK-4, Fully Multicoated, FOV 283'@1000, 18.3 eye Relief,
4.2 Exit Pupil, 28 oz., Twist-up eye cups, 12' Close Focus, Waterproof, tripod adaptable

Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects. These warranties do not cover consumer caused damages such as misuse, abuse or repairs attempted by someone other than our authorized technicians.

You cannot compare Trophy to Monarch. Legend is actually a better comparison for Monarch, in terms of optics quality and build. For example, Legend has 6 ft focus, vs 12 ft close focus for Trophy. That tells a lot about the fundamental optical design difference between those two. With that said, I will say Trophy is a great value for its price. You can get 85% (subjectively speaking) performance of Monarch or Legend for 50% price. The only question you need to answer yourself is whether you will crave for the other 15% improvement. I guess for that, you have to actually walk into a store that carries both and do a side-by-side comparison.

On a side note, I saw several sellers on eBay selling Trophy for a very good price. Not sure whether the sellers get their product from the proper channel (i.e. directly from Bushnell or its distributors)..

>$200

Yes, I understand that the two are in different price ranges and that is the point here. I want something inexpensive that I can take along when I might not want to take my better binoculars. I do not have any roofs and I do not have any 10x so I would have an opportunity to try both and have a binocular I could throw in the golf cart or loan to a friend to use as well as look out across the back of our property across a pasture to a ridge about a mile away. I believe having these along would be better than having none at all or taking the risk of damaging my Superior Es.

Here's the problem: less than $200, 10x, and WP. Recomend a pair of Porros and a pair of roofs that fit this criteria. Like somebody else said, the one thing a cheap binocular can do that an expensive one can't is to get lost without breaking you heart.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I bought a pair of these today on ebay and will post back with what they are like, although I used to have a pair of 8x42 Trophy's, and they were great for what I paid for them. Like another user above I just want something that can take a pounding in the back of the car and in the bottom of the rucksack,, or whatever.
What I cannot figure out,but maybe some one can enlighten me is how come they are available on ebay for £39.95 when most shops are £80 -90 dearer?,
are they some sort of grey import ( what that exactly is I have never understood) or seconds or what ?
Anyone ?

I bought a pair of 8x trophys from ebay last year. There were continuous listings of them at the time and they were going for between £45 - £60. They were listed as Bushnell and had box, bag cleaning cloth etc shown in the listings.

I notice that recently these listings seem to have dried up. The recent ones do not mention Bushnell in the listing or show the box or anything else. Nor do they have "Bushnell" embossed in the rubber armour of the saddle (I think its called) as in the pic at :- http://tinyurl.com/2vsld3

Got my Trophy's today and all I can say is that they are an absolute bargain at £39.95. They are proper Bushnell with warranty, cant say anymore.
