Blackbird with white spots seen in Cyprus (1 Viewer)

I cannot find this bird referenced anywhere! Small to medium sized black bird. I was looking down on it as it flew and from tip to tip it looked like someone with a paint brush had dabbed white paint on the edge of the wings - so it was a continuous line of white splashes. Can anyone help? Sorry no photo!

Possibly an aberrant individual of something common like blackbird

Hoopoe has black wings with a continuous line of white splashes (although not at the tips). Is that a possibility?
