Bird ID — Young Starling? Location: Brough, East Yorkshire (5 Viewers)

Hi, please can anyone identify this bird? Seen perched on top of a birch tree in the neighbor’s garden and on our bird feeder.

The photos were taken through my binoculars so they’re not very good, but they’re the best I could get!

I think it looks a lot like a young/immature starling, except it seems to be a bit bigger and rounder. We have seen a lot of starling murmurations near us recently though and we get them in our garden, but always in big groups. They’re also usually a lot like piranhas and will eat everything on our bird feeder in seconds normally, whereas I’ve only seen this one sitting still and alone at both the feeder and in the tree. Maybe a lost or sick one?

Was also wondering if it could be something in the thrush family! But not sure.

Any help would be much appreciated! I’ve never seen a bird like it in our garden (unless it is a starling, then I’ve never seen one so round and all alone!)

Thank you!
