Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping I'm posting in the right spot.

I live on the 9th floor in southern Ontario and I was wondering if having a bird feeder would work. It would be a table top one kept away from the edge hopefully keeping bird waste from falling down to lower balconies.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hi Danika and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I can only suggest you try it and see, it might take a while for the birds to find your feeder though, so be prepared to be patient.

I'm in a first floor flat (I think you'd say second floor?;)) and it took about 6 weeks for the birds to find mine, though I was able to throw seed onto the ground below. Mine is a feeder that sticks to the window. I've attached a picture. I also have two tube feeders for peanuts and seeds.

A couple of pictures attached.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

Welcome from over the big pond, Danika.

I must admit I never saw feeders mounted that high, as DT mentioned it´s worth a try.
My neigbur building is only 7 floors but the only birds I see on the antena on the flat roof are pigeons and rooks.
I would rather place a nestbox for peregrines outside, but that´s just me ;-)

Please keep posting, would like to hear about your success.

Thank you for the info and the welcome. :)

I've bought a "cheap" feeder for now to see. We have lots of birds around here, hopefully they'll find their way up here. :)

I'll keep you updated if anything does eventually show up. :)
