Sorry if this is the wrong forum

I know I could sit down and work this out but I’m on a trip. bubo has 104 bird families for the WP. Does anyone know how many of these are purely vagrants / how many regularly occurring breeding or wintering families there are

And which familes are purely vagrants if anyone has that info to hand

Pretty sure Ostriches are listed as a former WP Breeder, now ungettable.
Egyptian Plover should be on the Vagrant side. Same goes for Albatrosses.

104 families is the full list including twelve vagrant families (Cardinalidae, Dicruridae, Diomedeidae, Fregatidae (now), Icteridae, Mimidae, Parulidae, Passerellidae, Pluvianidae, Struthionidae (now), Tyrannidae & Vireonidae) & eight Category C families (Estrildidae, Numididae (now), Odontophoridae, Paradoxornithidae, Ploceidae, Psittacidae, Psittaculidae & Viduidae).

Download a CSV species list & overlay a Pivot Table when you are back. Now for a quick personal tally... 😀

All the best

I have seen 96 of the 104 families recorded in the WP inside the traditional WP as I understand it.

So I am missing eight being Anhingidae (resident in Iraq - https://ebird.org/checklist/S214038530), Coliidae (Blue-naped Mousebird), Dicruridae (Ashy & Black Drongos), Pluvianidae (Egyptian Plover), Rostratulidae (Greater Painted-snipe), Steuthionidae (Ostrich), Turnicidae (Andalusian Hemipode) & Viduidae (Pin-tailed Whydah). Just missing one of those families outside the WP area.

All the best

Paul
