Bird Droppings? Possibly Red Legged Partridge-Portugal-Algarve

This is a follow up to a previous thread on the same subject but with new improved photographs
Before someone suggests it, the material is not Polystyrene Granules, see the size compared to a Euro Coin

While on holiday in the Portuguese Algarve my wife and I were exploring the right hand side of the bay of Praia da Ingrina located between Lagos and Sagres
This is a general photo of the area referred to

In a quite small area shown by the black arrow we found various piles of a strange white substance that I suspect is the droppings of some life form, animal, lizard whatever. Each dropping is in the form of a cylinder 2 mm diameter and 5 mm long tapering slightly towards one end as though they have been extruded.
I attach a series of photos showing one of these piles from a distance and getting closer. With an enlarged view finally and a euro coin for size comparison. The pile is in the centre of the first image

If anyone can identify what this substance is and what has produced it I would be most grateful
