binocular objective lens caps (covers) question (1 Viewer)

Is there a proper name for a lens cap that engages the inside of the objective tube as opposed to the more common cover that slips over the exterior portion of the tube? Searches typically show the more conventional exterior cover (cap) but not the other. I've tried "snap-in" and got nowhere. I have a nikon action extreme 8x40 bino that has such a cover that engages on the interior of the bumper cover of the objective, but am looking for a snap- in cover that will work on a 12x50 opticron adventure TWP. I have an email query in to opticron but the website appears to have only the conventional exterior slide-on with the retainer rings . Thanks, Pat

Try Snap-on.

The Minolta SRT 303 and 101 camera lens rubber lens caps were great.
They gripped both inside and outside.

The camera in its ever ready case took about one second to drop the front flap and detach the lens cap that remained in the front of the case.

Regards,
B.
