Can anyone identify this beetle whose larvae were devastating the leaves on this bush? The location was Cheadle, Cheshire, UK.

Looks like a Blue Alder Leaf Beetle, Agelastica alni. Some years back it was thought to be extinct here in the UK but in recent years seems to have had a remarkable comeback & now abundant in some areas. Though primarily feeding on alders it will feed on a few other deciduous species too.
