Barrow Lane? (1 Viewer)

I was at Frodsham Marsh yesterday when I met a fellow birder. He told me about a sight called Barrow Lane just off the M6 motorway. I have looked on the internet and the only Barrow Lane I can find is in Hale and was a housing estate. If anyone can give me a post code for this I would really appreciate it as I have struggled to find any yellow wagtails and he said there easy to photograph here. Many thanks.

I have found it. Its in Winwick near Warrington. Hopefully I will take a trip tomorrow and get a shot of the elusive Yellow wagtail!!! If anyone needs the post code its WA2 7EA, apparently its also good for winter birds as well so hopefully it will be another frequented place for me.

Think that's the postcode for Highfield Farm Carl, this is where you want to park:

It's a private road so even if the barrier is up please don't drive down - you can only get half way as there are concrete bollards across the road. It is a public footpath however. There are two or three pairs of Yellow wags there at the moment plus three singing male Corn buntings. It's usually fairly dead in winter, though it's decent in the autumn for passage Peregrines, Merlin and Hobby.

Saluki. Thanks for the information I did go got a great picture of the Yellow Wagtail. I thought I had a Corn Bunting shot but when I posted it turned out to be a Skylark....DDDOOOHHH so I will make another trip as I really enjoyed it to get my shot of the Corn Bunting......it wasn't you I bumped into at Frodsham Marsh who told me about this place was it? Again many thanks.

No, it wasn't me. It's just one of my regular patches. Corn bunts are still singing at the moment so easiest way to see them is learn their song. There's usually a male on the hedgerow NE of the bollards.

Cheers
Jonathan

Saluki. Hopefully if work load permits I will get an hour this afternoon to catch the Corn Bunting and maybe get a good shot of it. I will take a look at that hedgerow you have mentioned. Fingers crossed.
