I found this little jewel, buried in a discourse on monoculars vs binoculars.

"The lens is designed to capture the light from farther distances and amplify it, while the prism takes the image and inverts it. This is particularly important because when the light is amplified the image that is produced is upside down thanks to the lens shape."

how to choose a monocular you’ll love

If one changes amplified to magnified, which could be a translation mistake then this isn't that bad.

The lens shape does indeed produce an inverted image.

The internet is full of these types of statement.

Irrespective of whether or not the internet is “full of these types of statement” I think it is nonsense, that was written by someone who had no clue.

Ads seem to be getting worser and worser.
I suppose that is one reason why fora such as this one here are becoming increasingly important: there are folks here who do lots of research and/or have more than average understanding of physics/optics, who can fact check and debunk crap like that. And often that stuff isn't even just numbnutted marketing wonks spouting rubbish, it is that garbage google translated from one language to another like Chinese whispers (the children's game, not a slur).
