American Robin, strange behavior - Philadelphia PA (1 Viewer)

A woman has reported to me (I work in a wildlife hospital) that an American Robin is flying into her window repeatedly. I advised her to cover the window with paper or similar from the outside, as the robin is probably seeing its reflection and is having a territory dispute with it. She hung a plastic tablecloth over the window, and now the robin is hurling itself at the tablecloth. The robin can no longer see its reflection.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am stumped.

I hope this doesn't sound stupid, but did she hang it on the outside of the window? If she hung it on the inside then the robin can probably still see its reflection.

Birding stores sell sillouetts (spelling) of flying birds of prey which may help. They are to taped to the window that the bird is hitting. My sister had to put bags on her side wiew mirrors of her car to prevent birds from attacking the images in the mirrors.
