Abidjan, Ivory Coast this afternoon - Vinaceous Dove (4 Viewers)

Dear Members and Bird Watchers!

I spotted two doves today and I ID them as Vinaceous Doves even though they are missing the black neck spot. This is the only doves available for my area that looks a little like my birds.

I also spotted one Brown Booby 40 km south of Abidjan and I was taking pictures of the bird when my friend pointed at a small white spot. I tried to take pictures of the bird that was very far away.

It looks to be full white with a little grey on the back and on top of the wings. Small black band on the wing. I have nothing looking like that in my bird books.

I still don't have any bird book for Africa, so if anyone can recommend a good ebook for birds of Africa it would be highly appreciated.

Kind Regards and Happy Birding
Aladdin

Thank you very much!

Sabine's gull is a new lifer for me, bird #1600 and bird #1314 with picture. I thought I had 1600 birds a few days ago, but I had already seen the Long-tailed Skua.

Cheers, highly appreciated!

Kind Regards
Aladdin
I suspect the Sabine's Gull is quite a notable record for Ivory Coast, although I guess it's not that uncommon on migration at that distance offshore.

Hello again Andrew whitehouse.

My Brown Booby was a Rare Bird alert, the Sabrine nothing. But I just changed the ID from bird sp. to Sabrine's Gull. So I will see in a while what they are saying.

Kind Regards
