Abandoned House Wren Babies (1 Viewer)

Hi all. A few days ago I found a nest in the corner of the roof of our barn. I heard babies in there and this morning I saw either the mother or the father feeding them. They look like House Wrens. I love birds and have had a number of babies born at our home this season (Bluebirds, Carolina Chickadee and Titmouse).

Just about an hour ago, I found one of the House Wren parents dead in the feed room of our barn. There are no signs of trauma, so it is not apparent how he/she died.

My question is this. Are both parents feeding these babies? I waited by the nest, just out of site for about 10 minutes and did not see a bird come by to feed the babies. I don't want them to die. Any suggestions on my course of action?

FALSE ALARM! The dead Wren I found yesterday may or may not have been one of the parents of these baby wrens. This morning one of the parents returned to the nest to feed their young so all is well at our barn with the baby wrens! I was quite relieved.

So pleased to hear all is well.I guess we panic because we care so much.

Fingers crossed for you.
