3 Days in North Norfolk: Recommendations? (1 Viewer)

I've got 3 days in North Norfolk coming up, starting tomorrow actually, why didn't I think of this earlier? Staying in Docking, near Hunstanton. There seem to be so many good birding spots, I can't possibly visit them all, I wondered if anyone had any particular recommendations for that area at this time of year?

Hi
Cley Next the Sea and Titchwell Reserve I'd say. Both got great hides and noticeboards, which will point you in the direction of anything interesting on the North Norfolk coast.
regards
Paul

You're a bit early for the Spring migrants but you should still see plenty of stuff.
Check for the high tides at Snettisham as that could be worth checking out, that's only a few miles from Hunstanton.

Also, not far from Snettisham is Wolferton triangle where a couple of Golden Pheasants have been seen lately. As Paul has already said, Titchwell is a must, but I would also recommend Holme NWT and Holme NOA which is just West (I think) of Titchwell.

If you do get down to Cley which is a fair drive from Hunstanton then I would also have a look at Holkham whilst you're down there. It should be good there at dawn and dusk for thousands of Pink Feet although I don't know how many are there as a few have probably moved on by now.

That's my tuppence worth anyway but I suggest you post this on the Norfolk thread as you will get some response form the locals.

Happy birding.

There is a Great Grey Shrike at Dersingham Bog at the moment so that might be worth a look. Also a Black Necked Grebe near Titchwell showing very well apparently. There was recently a Ross's Goose near Hillington in with the Pinkfeet. Also a flock of Snow Bunting at Titchwell. These are just local birds. Further ones include Glaucous Gull at Cley, Smew at Whitlingham, Ring-Necked and Ferruginous Duck in the Broads and a Cattle Egret at Matlaske near Holt!
You would get loads of replies with detailed information if you put a request on the Norfolk Birding thread.
Good luck!

Im also looking to get to North Norfolk this coming weekend, so keen for any tips aswell. Wondering if Snettisham at high tide still has numbers of birds ive seen previous years.....??
Also anyone got any good spots for Barn Owls as keen to show the family these beatiful birds if possible too?
Thanks for any info.

When I was at Blakeney last summer there were Barn Owls flying around the fields between Blakeney and Morston (seen from along the coast footpath), but not sure how frequently they are seen there.
