    This Southern Boobook has been calling on and off at a property in NW Sydney where we keep our horse. Since I visit the place every evening, I have managed to photograph the owl the last two evenings. He has been very obliging. :-)

    This small cute owl lives in the cavity atop which it is sitting. I liked the way the dead tree surrounded the bird, not only giving it great camouflage, but also depicting it as if "holding fort". Wish there was some catchlight :)
