    This small bird sat atop a tree beside the river. I was in a small boat. The bird was near the distance limit for obtaining an acceptable image with my equipment; the image has been severely cropped, and is of marginal quality. The dark plum colored throat appears black in this image.

    A male. This was a real "wish-bird" for me .It was hacking down with rain when we spotted this bird feeding on termites and took this photo from the balcony.
