Verreaux's Eagle Owl
This was taken after sundown. The owl landed in the tree next to my lodge balcony. Don't know who was more surprised - me or the owl! Anyways, managed to get a shot at 51200 ISO and 1/15s. Noise reduction works wonders nowadays.- Ivorhooper

Short-eared owl
Probably one of my last trips of the season to see the Short-Eared Owl. This one has been accustomed to the photographers visiting. They will leverage the people and eat and hunt near us to keep the Northern Harriers away.- cynthetic

Short-eared Owl in windy weather.
This short-eared owl perched itself on a post. The sun was rising, and it was damp outside. Not sure if we will see the short-eared owls for much longer. The area that I go to has been flooded, and if they don't have a good vole supply, they may move along.- cynthetic
