    A mousebird photographed in my garden in Harare. I am not sure of the species, C. striatus should have black upper jaw...

    They seem to vary a lot in colour from greyish-brown to darkish brown - I have noticed a distinct colour variation only 150km apart. To be honest I am not certain I have identified it correctly so your input would be appreciated.

    This makes a change seeing a mousebird on the ground. They are usually looking like they are standing on their tales as they go clinging to branches
