    Tern sp., Guangxi, China

Observed this tern flying over an inland river in Western Guangxi province in June. Terns in general here are not often seen in this area, as it is quite far inland. I previously have seen Whiskered Tern in the area a couple times, but this bird I think may be a different species. Photos were...

Alcippe sp. Song ID - David's Fulvetta? Guangxi, China

Sound recording taken in June. Elevation 200m in western Guangxi province. Bird was observed. The presumed alcippe species in this area is David's Fulvetta, but Huet's has also been reported not far away. Wondering if species ID can be made from song alone. An initial listen to eBird...

Yesterday was out birding and have a couple ID questions from the western part of Guangxi, China. 1. Minivet ID: Came across a group of minivets which I would like help IDing. 9. Chinese cave gecko (adult)

    Chinese cave gecko (adult)

Goniurosaurus luii, can be also called Chinese leopard gecko. This is an adult one. For this species, the juvenile is far more beautiful than the adult. BTW, after the species was discovered in 2009, it was extirpated in the type specimen origin place, due to the crazy illegal pet trade.
  10. Chinese cave gecko (juv.)

    Chinese cave gecko (juv.)

What a superb gift to me on the World Animal Day ! Goniurosaurus luii, can be also called Chinese leopard gecko. This is a juvenile one. For this species, the juvenile is far more beautiful than the adult, as the juvenile's pattern is orange bands on purple background, and the eye colour is red...
