Crows washing and drying nesting material

A couple years ago, in San Diego County coastal area, we installed some jute netting to discourage erosion; it did its job and is now disintegrating. My husband and I have separately observed a pair of crows pulling 6-to-8-inch strands from the netting, then flying the strands a few yards over...

    The Odd Couple

I've been going up to Ardersier for a few years now and most mornings I'm up and away along the shore with a camera, see what there is to be seen. I've quite often seen a lone Hooded Crow on the shoreline picking around but, it's very wary and usually flies off when I get closer or, it's too...

    African Goshawk vs. Two Crows

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, so I thought I'd post something I caught on camera this morning. An African Goshawk (If I have it right) in a tussle with two white chested crows. Gauteng, SA.

    City Birds Of San Diego

We do a daily live stream of our backyard feeders and watering dishes. We have a variety of birds that hang out in our yard including scrub jays, hooded orioles, house finches, sparrows and crows. We enjoy watching them to relax and have included some enjoyable reggae music in the background to...

    Backyard feeding

I am fairly new to feeding our backyard birds in southern NJ. In addition to several different types of feeders, i also put out suet and peanuts in shells. I learned recently that crows in particular really like peanuts in shells.

Help, the crows have started a war

Hello Bird Forum, first post, and I'm sure you're going to have a good laugh about what I'm going to tell you. Yes, I know it's totally my own fault but... So I live in the city and we mainly have pigeons (which I am not fond of) and crows (which i like). I have a small balcony with a...

    Jackdaw

Jackdaws are common in the centre of Perth around Smeaton's Bridge. No one gives them a second glance but they are, to my eyes, beautiful birds.

    House Crow

The house crow (Corvus splendens), also known as the Indian, greynecked, Ceylon or Colombo crow, is a common bird of the crow family that is of Asian origin but now found in many parts of the world, where they arrived assisted by shipping. It is between the jackdaw and the carrion crow in size...

These guys are becoming regulars at the lake I go to on a regular basis. I took these from my car. I am always amazed how close I can get to birds in my car, even Crows.

    Beating The Heat-Our City Lake_13

There was a frenzy at this water puddle in the park running adjacent to the lake with common mynas, jungle mynas and crows jostling to quench their thirst. Photo is a bit blurry because of the commotion of the birds as well as fading light.

Sparrowhawk was another first (again, that newby advantage - even common birds are firsts). Not great focus here, but enough to show the action.

Crows at nighting site - 3

Not much of a quality picture, not a big deal in terms of species: Rooks and Jackdaws. What makes this picture special is its exposure time - 25 seconds. Pretty much for a bird picture, huh ? I was lucky to capture these pics because of the harsh winter in Romania, which forced the crows to find...
