    On the other side of the path I suddenly became aware that Hans was peering through a fence. When I joined him I found he was watching an Australian Water Dragon. Rather cute, aren't they

    After I'd returned to sit with Hans and Judy again, Judy's sharp eyes spotted some movement in the tumble of rocks on the face of the weir. I pointed my camera in the direction she was indicating and there was the head of an Australian Water Dragon checking it was safe to emerge.

    As we were walking back along the path, Hans suddenly shot off towards the fence. There on the other side was a Water Dragon. I ended just taking his head, so the fence wires didn't get in the way of the picture.

    I had another find on the weir when I was there for this (obviously young) water dragon popped out of a crevice more-or-less right under my nose!! He was just the cutest LOL

    I was now back sitting with Hans and Judy having a cuppie... however, Judy seemed to have her eyes everywhere and spotted this Water Dragon in the jumble of rocks forming the weir. He seems to have some breeding colouration I think. What a beauty. Apparently this species has been around for...
