This one is in Buenaventura, El Oro, Ecuador. I have it down as juvenile type Gray-headed Kite, confirmation or the opposite sought.

Agreed Niels. The look alike is Black-and-white Hawk-Eagle. While I'm not looking at guide books and don't remember the details of ID off the top of my head I've seen enough of both to feel pretty confident going on just structure/jizz/first impression.

Hawk-eagle would have a black mask around the eyes to loral region. Otherwise remarkably similar (mimicry?)
