Canon SX50 HS or Panasonic FZ60

I will prefer the FZ60 to the SX50. The FZ60 is 16mp and while the sx50 is 12mp. FZ60 screen is wider.

    Choosing 10 x 42 Binoculars

I‘d go 8x32. Lighter, easier to hold and still plenty bright for all casual activities. All boils down to personal preference.

    Birding Binos

Nikon monarchs are a great glass and you don't have to break the bank.

Curio 7x21 vs. CL 8x25 pocket

I have the Curio CL 7x21 pair as pocket alternatives to something I normally carry that is way bigger. The exit pupil of 3mm, wide field, brightness and clarity makes me think these are much bigger optically. A truly superior optic.

    Most interesting birding experiences

Seeing snowy owls in Seattle- quite rare and literally brought tears to my eyes they are so beautiful. My first toucan sighting was in Bolivia. I've seen more since then in Central America- both aricaris and keel billed. The first time was very exciting though.

    Beginner Binoculars

I bought a pair of Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 for a friend and he loves them for bird watching and scanning the skies. I use Nikon Monarch 7 10x42 for stargazing, but I wouldn't recommend 10x because they're more difficult to hold steady.
