    Pulling a scope apart

Ahh thanks Henry, so it would still be needed to be taken apart to get rid of them I'm guessing. I noticed it appears as little black dots almost like sand in images through the scope. At first when I was looking through the scope I just thought it was dust or an issue with the coatings.

    Pulling a scope apart

Well, I found what looks like fungus inside my Svbony SA401 scope. I saw something similar in another thread and contacted Svbony and they want me to post it back to China for repair - probably cost more than the scopes worth. I pointed out to them if it had been sealed and nitrogen filled...

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

Thats my thoughts too, why keep the lens when you can enjoy the view through the scope and take photos as and when. I guess the main point for the camera lens is BIF as thats something that would take a lot of skill with a scope. I'm thinking of just using my camera for macro only now tbh...

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

Nice! Have you owned any other scopes before the ATC? If so how do you find it compares?

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

I did some research on the Digiscoping groups on Facebook earlier on and it seems the Kowa 883/884 and the ATS 80 also produce some really nice results...I think any scope I get is going to be lighter than the one I've currently got πŸ˜‚ I'm going to go test the ATC first though and see how I feel...

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

Yeah I'd be pretty much getting it to replace the big scope I can't really carry so that I can use it alongside my binoculars on shorebird counts with the occasional Digiscoping incase I see a rarity or something worth documenting. I'd also be using it for whale watching. There's not much...

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

The result from the 65 looks better than what I'm getting from my Olympus 100-400 πŸ˜… I noticed someone is also selling a Kowa 554 nearby to me for a really good price. I wonder how that compares to the ATC too.

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

Cheers Jason, I thought that might be the case! Do you happen to have any images or videos you've taken through the ATC and the 65 so I can see? Do you use the VPA2 on the 65/95 too? Or do you adapt your camera to it? I'd love the 80 and above but I don't think I could carry the weight...

    ATC vs ATS 65 Digiscoping

Hi all, I'm looking at these two scopes at the moment and I'm tempted to sell off my Olympus 100-400 and just digiscope when I need too especially as that lens isn't really great in bad light anyway. I'm going to have a look at the ATC soon when its in stock at my local shop but they advised...

    Nikon vs Swarovski

Hello all, I was looking at the Swarovski ATS 65 and then saw the Nikon Monarch and EDG models of comparable objective sizes and was wondering how do these actually compare to the Swarovski? It seems like you can get an EDG body on ebay for less then a 1/3 of an ATS and same for the Monarch...

Help me with an Alpha :)

I'm absolutely delighted with them. I picked them up quite late in the afternoon so didn't get to try out in the daylight unfortunately. But I had a play around with them and tested them on the stars and they're definitely as bright, if not brighter than my 42mm objective Fuji HC. I love how...

Help me with an Alpha :)

Update...Ended up going back last week and ordering a pair of NL Pure 8x32 - they'd sold out annoyingly but quickly re-stocked...Pick up tomorrow 😁 Apparently they're getting scopes in too... Might have to take my tripod and compare my chinese Svbony SA401 alongside - no doubt I'll be saving up...

I definitely think they spoke to me...Unless I'm going crazy (?) 🀣 I'm wondering how the EL compares too, its a real shame I don't know anyone with a pair nearby!

Help me with an Alpha :)

β€ŠUpdate Went to a couple of shops today to have a look and compared them all with eyeglasses on and against my current Fuji. Great day to test - bright, sunny and warm, a typical Western Australian day. First shop had Zeiss Victory SF 8x32 - it was nice, very well built and well balanced in...

Help me with an Alpha :)

I'd have definitely looked at Noctivids if they did an 8x32 version. The 8x42 is just a bit too heavy for me based on the stats. I think they have them at a shop thats relatively local though, so I'll probably try them.

Thanks mate, I'll definitely see if the shop has these when I go up to check them out and see if they have one I can test :)

Very interesting looking binoculars! Are the CL Companion any good too?

Help me with an Alpha :)

I'll definitely see if I can try that model too - I noticed that there is a Nikon EDG model too. Is this older than the HG? It seems to have good ER. It seems like the 8x42 version of the HG is 100g lighter than my Fuji too and the 8x30 even more so. Ahh ok - so if the glasses sit closer to my...
