Service for Zeiss binoculars and Opticron scope

East Coast Optics are also the 'go to' for 'The Birders' Store' in Worcester for their Zeiss repairs/servicing... They serviced my HT's before I bought them. There is a link somewhere on here where various repair/service guys are listed and talked about.

Service for Zeiss binoculars and Opticron scope

Fully agree.... I had superb/faultless service from East Coast Optics, and so has a friend of mine. No issues at all.

Any experiences on Zeiss Victory pocket 8x25 vs SFL 8x30?

I'm not sure you would see a huge difference between the 8x25VP's and the SFL30's. Bit bigger, bit brighter, bit easier. But not much. I think the combo of 8x25 and your 8.5x42 EL is spot on. Why would you change?? Habicht is old school porro, with glare issues according to some, but if you can...

Leica Pocket like all purpose bino?

This is true.... but if you want really portable /pocket binos then 20's are the way to go. Or why not just go to 30/32s because they have way more objective surface area than 25's, where do you stop. I've had 25's and they were neither one thing nor the other. Too middle ground for me. Sold...

Leica Pocket like all purpose bino?

I have just added some 4mm rubber gaskets to my Ultras. I needed the eyecups halfway between 'out and in', and these are spot on. It has actually made them significantly less fiddly in general use, now being set in this position. The view throught the bins is much more pleasurable, and it seems...

    Looking at upgrading

Those Aurora's are very good.... make sure you are happy with the small increase in optical performance for what will be a big outlay. You're going to have to go 'top tier' to see a difference. And it won't be a huge one!

Excellent news ..... no doubt the good lady agrees I'm sure.

My beloved is in love......with her Leica Trinovid 7x35's

I find I have to rest them on my brow, took me a while. Not as easy as the Curios.... I'm there now and very fond of mine(y)

    Trying the 8x20 Ultravid again????

Leica Pocket like all purpose bino?

Take a little time to play with it.... it is awkward but i have got used to it now. The Curio is immediatley easier. But i'd struggle to lose my Ultra now.

Leica Pocket like all purpose bino?

Yes.... Curio slightly better optically in my opinion, but I do prefer the Leica Ultra build quality and focus wheel. But I actually got a 'like new' 2nd hand pair, for a good price, so that swung it. I'd be happy with either, but I do love my Ultras.

Leica Pocket like all purpose bino?

When this thread started I had sold my 8x20 Ultra, and ended up with a Swaro CL 8x25, which is a superb optic in my opinion, as I wanted easier handling, and bigger exit pupil. But the 8x25 was actually so much bigger than the 8x20, and consequently left behind too often, and NEVER in my pocket...

    Hiking: Curio vs CL 10x25

I was off to do a spot of work today, which got cancelled last minute, so decided to pop down to my local wildlife reserve, a mile away, and have a coffee. I always have my 8x20's in my bag, for just such occassions. My HT's were back at home as I hadn't intended on any wildlife observing today...

    Advice needed!

I'd save even more on a 'back up' pair and get the Conquest 8x32 for about 6-700 quid these days. Or the Zeiss VP 8x25.... optically they give most things a run for their money. Not massive money for either. Or... second hand from reputable dealer... Ace optics, Focalpoint etc. Always a safe...

    Hiking: Curio vs CL 10x25

My experience.... I've always had a larger binocular, from 56mm down to 32's as a main pair. And I've nearly always had a small pair. Small bins are fiddly, awkward and take some setting up, double hinges etc. So occasionally i've sold them, only to regret it, and get some again!!!!! I had some...

My beloved is in love......with her Leica Trinovid 7x35's

Mate those are beautiful. One of the very few 'wow' binoculars for me. I tested a pair at Ace Optics a while back, and couldn't believe how optically good they were, let alone how good they looked too!! But I knew I'd treat them way too carefully... and handed them back. Awesome bins.

After Kite Lynx 8x30 : Swarovski Pure NL 8x32 or 10x32?

Nice choice in the orange.... like it(y)

    Binoculars seen in France

Mid price optics are so very good these days it's hard to justify the huge outlay for top tier. Years ago the difference was huge.... not so anymore. Conquest level binos for example are all anyone would ever need... But some folk will always head for the best, regardless of value for money.

    NL's are simply the best!

I'm distraught... Last week the Zeiss FL 7x42 was the best binocular.... Now I don't know what to think... I'll stick with my crappy HT's until I can make sense of it all...;)
  24. R

used EL 8x32 or new NL 8x32

In which case, either will clean blow you away.
