    8x56 & 8x54 Brand Comparisons

Dead horse I know. I really want the 8x54 Zeiss HT’s or the Swaro 8x56. Almost all low light to no light observation use. (Don’t care much for the daytime differences here) But with today’s glass, it seems more affordable glass gets you close if not right there with the big guys. Which brings me...

    Swarovski SLC 15x56 Review

Glad you’ve done some comparisons. I can’t decide between the SLC / Zeiss / Meopta all in 15’s for long range observation and low light situations. I’ve been wanting the SLC’s but just can’t decide or compare them all side by side. I’m almost wondering if I would be better off just going with...

    Low light Bins?

I was being a little facetious with my “you caught me” post. I would have assumed “anyone with an IQ greater than their shoe size would have picked that a mile off.” Anyhow. To all the others, thanks for taking the time to give your educated opinions or advice on helping make my decision...

That was about perfect. Exactly it. Getting a little off topic here, but you said it perfectly. Thank you.

    Warranty

Nope. I spoke with them today. They will always cover you. To a point. There’s been a lot of discussion on this lately with other forums. They have your back....believe me.

    Low light Bins?

I wish I could compared the Geovid HD-B3000 to this Zeiss RF (2018) I have now. Would like to see how they compare optically. The Zeiss RF is considerably more advanced than the the Geovid 3000 as far as rangefinder capabilities. (Bluetooth, storage, distance) Not sure how they stack up...

    Low light Bins?

Thanks. You’ve been very helpful more times than I remember. I’ve visited the site you posted several times and have made it my home screen for easy referencing. With what you posted, are the numbers above from older Zeiss RF bins or are they from their 2018 line? And do you know if the new 2018...

    Low light Bins?

Thanks Lee. Well that definitely clears things up. Makes me a feel better as well. :) As a hunter and guide, I spend hours and hours behind glass. Usually 200 days in the field all over North America and it seems most days spending hours behind glass. For me, glass had to be the best and is my...

    Low light Bins?

Well, you caught me. Ive been somewhat avoiding it throughout all my post or threads.... or trying to hide it I guess. Not sure how you picked up on this though. Understandably, a bird forum is probably not the best place for me to be. But yes, that’s my main use with any and all my optics as...

    Very light tripod - suggestions

I have the Promaster 525 Carbon and the Slik 634 Carbon using a Benro S2 head. Both perform exceptionally well with my heavy 95 ATX. They are the lightest on the market I believe.

    Low light Bins?

The same good friend that has the Meopta 10x42’s I borrowed last week has the 8’s as well. I wasn’t able to spend a whole lot of time but enough to know they were pretty stellar.

    Low light Bins?

I have a few and here’s a little background. I have Swaro 10x42 EL Range. Had the EL’s but traded in for the EL Range as of a week ago. Now have Zeiss 10x42 RF’s. I recently had the SF’s but sold them and purchased the RF’s. I have the Maven 11x45’s and the 10x42 Noctivids. I HAD a pair of...

    Low light Bins?

The Swaro EL’s in 8.5x42 have really caught my eye. Not sure what else would compare.

    Low light Bins?

Thanks. I just spent about an hour behind some borrowed 8x’s. Really the first time I’ve looked through 8’s. I’m actually not sure why I have put them off. My eyes much preferred 8’s over 10’s. What little detail I may have lost was made up in absolute eye comfort (if that’s such a thing). Now...

    Low light Bins?

Sorry for so many post lately. Still trying to figure things out. In heavily wooded areas mainly, low light dusk, twilight, shades settings, I’m looking for the best low light performance bins. 10x42 for my wife and a 10x50,54, or 56 for me. I realize 8 is the way to go, but would prefer to...

    Noctivids / Geovids

When you say no trouble, are they still bright and easily seen in bright white snowy areas, or do you really have to focus pretty hard to see the display? I’ve asked several others who own them as well and I get a lot of mixed reviews. And so I understand, the Geovids HD-B 3000’s are not near...

    Noctivids / Geovids

I am glad you posted. I actually have the Zeiss RF’s. 2018’s. Been using them for a bit now, and on Br11 (highest LED brightness) they appear to be bright in doors. BUT, outside here in Montana with the snow covered hills and bright days, I almost cannot read or see the display. For example...

    Zeiss RF’s 2018 Model Question

Ok. It seems I’m on a roll with post here lately. I have bins coming out my ears it would appear. Just received a pair of Zeiss RF 10x42’s. Seem pretty decent. Not going to get into too much optically here but....I can’t help but notice the right barrel seems to be noticeably darker than the...

    Noctivids / Geovids

I had an older pair of Leica Geovids that I recently received back from Leica repair, but sold before even looking through them and comparing. I currently own 10x42 Noctivids and think they are great in many ways. I especially like the pop it seems to have. I am in the market for another pair...

Ok. Sorry about that. My search skill on the IPhone are not the greatest. I’ll try to figure out how to delete the thread or ask an admin to do so.

    Leica Customer Service

This is probably not the correct place on the forum to post this. Maybe an admin will relocate. I was going to post it in the Leica section, but then only the Leica group would see it possibly. The ones on the fence with Leica or have taken a liking to their product but feared their CS would...

Leica, Swaro, Zeiss: thoughts on their colors

I personally own an older pair of Zeiss FL and the CL’s as well. I can’t compare with the older Leica. Currently have the Noctivid (phenomenal view). I would also agree there are times where certain colors Pop or appear more vivid with the FL’s. My experience leans more toward yellow and browns...
