Sharp-shinned or Cooper's Hawk (Green Valley, AZ)

Thanks for the kind words! Here is another photo showing that the individual doesn't appear to have "a dark crown" like a Cooper's, either. And I looked at some other Cooper's shots, and they do have thicker legs and much darker crowns. Appreciate your taking the time to comment.

Thank you very much. I thought it was, but the reference photos I saw showed much more white "side patches" adjacent to the direct throat. Appreciate the confirmation!

    Duck ID Help (Amado, AZ)

Nowhere near rich. But I do have the wherewithal to work hard and invest in what I want to own. I'm not the desperate one here. You are the one desperately trying to validate what was clearly a derision, especially since you were wrong and assumed the deck in question was "tame." It was not...

    Duck ID Help (Amado, AZ)

First of all, I don't appreciate your condescension. Second, what makes you think it was tame? How close I got? Maybe, if you had a clue, you could download my image, harvest the EXIF data, and you would recognize that I shot the image @ 1200mm with a $16,000 lens. It was nowhere near tame —...

Desert Song Sparrow (???) / Clay-Colored Sparrow (???), Green Valley, AZ

Another image ... Again, my apologies I couldn't get a clear shot. Too many sticks in the way. But for sure, at least to my eye, it looks like a Lincoln's. My own opinion is color is important. Birds actually see more colors than we do. The song sparrow looks darker, more brick-colored...
