Wow, sounds like you had an amazing day. I know what it's like to have such a great day when your just coming back to birding, having recently "returned" myself. I recently saw Avocet's for the 1st time too, and have seen regularly since, such a great bird, & I never tire of watching them.- FenJ

Suffolk Birding
Decided to visit RSPB Lakenheath today for the first time. What a fantastic & beautiful reserve, especially on such a lovely day. So peaceful (apart from the odd train). Unfortunately no Cranes, or Bearded Tits, but plenty of other wonderful wildlife. I never tire of watching Marsh Harriers... -

Have to agree, looks like a Bream to me, dark fins, scale size and pattern, also shape of the fish. Looks a reasonable size too, would have been happy to have it in my net, back in my fishing days. -
