    I say, don't change the names of organisms to satisfy the urge to undo injustices, whether real or perceived. We have enough moralists telling us what is right and what is wrong, without the taxonomists getting involved. Changing the name of a bird does nothing to solve all of the immense...

    Having a hard time being civil in this debate. I think it's a monstrous error to change the eponyms. It makes me think of the Cultural Revolution.

    Saying Hello

    Howdy, finally got around to joining birdforum. I have been using the site to read up on eponyms. I now live in Western New York State, after having lived most of the last 35 years in the Pacific Northwest. Started birding in 1974.
