    Birding in Worcestershire

The River Arrow runs through Arrow Valley Park in Redditch so you can get access there. I thought it linked up with Bittell so look up the posts in West Mids section. As you should find info there. Access is not easy there though.

Many thanks Craig for your post. Went over to Eymore this morning for a couple of hours and managed to see Crossbills, Buzzard, LT Tits, Goosander, Mandarain, Treecreeper, Siskin, Brambling, Tufted and plenty more. Stopped at Winterfold School on the way and there was couple of hundred...

    Rough Hill Wood - Studley

Just wondered if any members were regulars at Rough Hill Wood. Realising it was close to home after finding it on the web I went down for a late afternoon walk round. Despite not being the best time to see birds there was cracking pair of buzzards flying through the wood, jays, tits etc. I'm...

    RSPB Middleton Lakes

I visited Middleton Lakes this morning for a change of scenery. JHDraytonbassettpits had kindly provided some tips as hadn't been there before. Thought the reserve was fantastic. It was great to have a good walk whilst birding. With the reserve having lakes, woodland and meadows it has a lot to...

    Manfrotto 681B Help please

Help please. I have a Manfrotto 681 B Monopod from photography but would not like to use it for bird spotting to hold a Telescope I was given for Xmas. I need some way of clamping it inside the hide. I'm sure many people have similar problems that may be able to offer some thoughts. Many...

    Birding in Worcestershire

I've found AV just to busy with people and I've only seen what I already have seen at Upton so far, but will continue as its a decent walk at the same time. I did catch a Ruff at Upton in 2011. Will look up Morton Baggot as not heard of that one. Many thanks

    Birding in Worcestershire

Thank you Phil for your reply. Have been following the spottings with interest. I think my trouble at the moment is that I'm still very much of a novice and struggle with the smaller lesson common birds. (less common for me that is).

    Birding in Worcestershire

Hi. Whilst I've been really enjoying my first full year visiting Upton Warren weekly I wondered if any forum members can recommend any other great places in Worcestershire. I've seen Blakedown listed in a few places, is there a reserve there ? I'm currently based in Redditch. Many thanks

    Upton Warren

Would have been nice ! With them having two I'm sure they wouldn't have minded. Will look forward to seeing one back at Upton soon.

Many thanks for the replies. Thats just what I needed. Whilst I caught the Great White Egret I still waiting to tick off a few of the more regular sightings inc the Lesser Redpoll. Finally managed to catch a Bittern today at Slimbridge !

    Upton Warren

Hi All. I've been visiting Upton this year since joining as a family members. I've lived in Redditch for 20 years and didn't even know Upton was really there, just gone to Slimbridge a few times a year previously. Upton does seem to become rather addictive and always keen to find out the latest...
