    Big Bird, Big Appetite

    We watched this heron fishing and it would catch and release the fish then recapture it, like a cat playing with a mouse. And it danced around like the Reddish Egret. After a few attempts the fish did go down the throat.

    This sounds like an owl to us, maybe Great Horned, coming from a dense clump of trees, then later from a palm tree in dense vegetation. Between 12 and 1 pm today. Thank you

    I was expecting a wren in the reeds but this is the bird I finally saw. It reminds me of a Song Spar so perhaps it is a Swamp Spar? I notice it has a breast spot too. Thank you

    The wrens blend with the colors of the nut block yet are so nicely backed by the blurred snowy background. Beautiful detail of the wings and tail, too. Very nice composition, I'd say.
