Arrow Valley Lake and Park (Redditch)

Popped down to my old patch today following your post. Great to see Kingfisher on River Arrow easily. Let's hope the local chavs keep their distance, as normally the first bit of good weather they are creating havoc in these areas. Nice posts.

    Birds of Warwickshire

Thought I'd post a couple of shots of Siskin's taken around Salford Priors today. For those who use Hillers Hide, a polite notice has gone up asking patrons to spend no longer than a hour in the hide at any one time. Plenty of proper birds just down the road at the pits ;)

    Hillers garden centre

I'm not sure I'd travel from Hereford to use it to be honest. It's on the northern edge of my own patch. Species are Marsh Tit, Goldcrest, Thrushes, Redpoll, Muntjac. You can see a few examples on my blog.

    Symonds Yat/ Cannop Ponds

Personally I'd start at Parkend for the Hawfinches. I then go to the church where with luck you can get Crossbills and Brambling. I find the Shrike in Forest very difficult. Dipped it 5 times but others have had it easy. Cannop Ponds is fairly easy to walk. Sometimes the Mandarin are on the...

Combined Warwickshire sightings for January. http://out4aduck.blogspot.co.uk/p/warwickshire-sightings-2016.html I've also added a couple of record photos of a leucustic Yellowhammer which was a very strange find yesterday. http://out4aduck.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/leucistic-surprise.html

    Upton Warren

That's still a great effort. It's quite often these little patches that land the gems ! We will be all there when you find that Belted Kingfisher on the fisheries.

    Upton Warren

Would be good if one or two of the Upton regulars got involved as they would be pushing for Champions League places for sure. I've loved doing in this year at Salford Priors GP, it certainly keeps you motivated and make you look for birds yourself. In simple terms - you just compete an excel...

    Upton Warren

Recorded my first Upton Barn Owl this evening at 6.55pm. Showing well to right of the hide at the Flashes. Roost was building well before a microlight flushed all the birds twice at approx 5.25pm. Large gulls didn't appear until very late. So numbers quoted below are minimal. 2500 BHG, Juv...

    Bittell Reservoirs and Hopwood area

That's very true, however the main pit isn't even mentioned or shown. I can only think this is due to the restricted rights of way. Let's hope things improve in future when the estate take back over the land.

    Birds of Warwickshire

Access to Pophills is easy, you can park by the green gate. Sadly the Estate are doing some drainage work in the fields next door which has stopped our good run with the waders. http://out4aduck.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Salford%20Prior%20Gravel%20Pits Access to south area is very limited...

    Yorkshire Birding

Many thanks for the replies. I'm up for 2 days but will take in cycling aswell. Goole doesn't look like its far off my route according to Google. Not sure whether mornings or afternoons are better for Monty's. I've keen to get my annual fix of sea birds, Black & Slav Grebes and perhaps an...

    Yorkshire Birding

I'm heading to East Yorkshire on Thursday as I've always wanted to visit Bempton. I'm keen to maximise my trip up from the midlands and wondered if the locals had any decent tips of best places or walk or other good places local. Hornsea Mere - Are Black-necked Grebe resident there ? Many...
