Attention! Nikon introduces two new fieldscopes and a new zoom..

Yes, I have read that. The weight is quite high, I must say. Only 60x magnification with the zoom and a design that most closely resembles a large flashlight. But I can not really decide for myself if I think it´s ugly or a beauty. Hmm..it must be something extraordinary in terms of optical...

I found the specs for the new scopes.. :t: http://feed.ne.cision.com/wpyfs/00/00/00/00/00/0E/04/B5/wkr0003.pdf /Jonas

Attention! Nikon introduces two new fieldscopes and a new zoom..

    |=)| The swedish text doesn´t say very much about the new Fieldscope (just the things I listed above in this thread). So I can´t answer your question about weight, eyepiece and focus ring. But my guess is that they will stick with helical focussing! There will be one "big" change to the new...

Attention! Nikon introduces two new fieldscopes and a new zoom..

Nikon is now launching two new fieldscopes, EDG 85 and EDG 65 + a new zoom! They will be presented at SHOT SHOW 2009 in Orange County Conventional Center in Orlando (Florida, USA) between January 15 and January 18, 2009. Here is a link (text in Swedish)...

Optical performance: Nikon 8x32 SE vs the new EDG?

Nice to hear! Maybe that saves me from paying 18000 SEK (about £1400 or $2100) for a new EDG binocular. Suddenly I feel I won money on the lottery.. :t:

Optical performance: Nikon 8x32 SE vs the new EDG?

I will just check one thing..did you mean that the SE should be better than the new EDG?

Optical performance: Nikon 8x32 SE vs the new EDG?

"vs" in the headline stands for "versus".. But OK, here is a question for you .. How do you think the Nikon 8x32 SE stand against EDG 7x42 in terms of optical performance? Bottom up .. ;)

    Nikon 82ED scope

I have had my ED82 in some days now (it´s actually my third). Now I´m fully satisfied. The scope is amazing, I must say. Third specimen is not just sharp all the way up to 75x, it´s also more forgiving when it comes to heat haze etc than the other I have owned. Now (even in dull weather)...

    How good/sharp are your 25-75x on ED82?

15 minutes, an hour, a day..or how long is an extended period of time? :eek!: Yesterday I had an opportunity to compare the scope against a Zeiss 85. My friend said he didn´t like that my new ED82 was better than his Zeiss. It´s a nice compliment.. |=)| Better or not, the main thing is that I...

    How good/sharp are your 25-75x on ED82?

Now I've got a new scope. But I could not compare the way I had planned because the store had only one specimen in stock. Luckily, it appears to be a very good specimen (with the "crispy sharpness" even at 75x). So now I'm finally happy! :-). The real "field test", however, takes place tomorrow..

    Protection for Nikon 8x32 SE..

No, not yet. But I will look further.. :-)

    How good/sharp are your 25-75x on ED82?

Thanks for the tip! It seems to be an easy way to find the best specimen. At least if you only looking for the sharpest one. I will let you know how it goes!

    How good/sharp are your 25-75x on ED82?

Now I've got a new specimen of the scope from Nikon. Good service, I must say. Unfortunately I am not fully satisfied with this specimen either. It's not unsharp, but it lacks that "wow factor". It's not as crispy as it should be I think. I compared it against my ED50 and it showed that the ED50...

Nikon ED50: green or black - vote please!

Now I have ordered a 27x DS eye piece, too. The zoom is fine, but I feel there are a lot of "zooming" back and forth with it. I think it will be interesting to see if the 27x eye piece lives up to reputation .. :-)

    Protection for Nikon 8x32 SE..

Ha ha..it may be true. I think it feels better when the protection is hard and not only a soft case, but I'll try to liberate myself as best I can .. ;)

    Protection for Nikon 8x32 SE..

I am a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of thing. I want it to be perfect |8)|. Normally I do not use eye caps when bird watching. But they are useful, however, when the binoculars are not actively used. Even if I want it to be perfect, I will try with tape. Maybe it will work...

    Protection for Nikon 8x32 SE..

I have got the eye cap now (for a couple of days ago actually). Unfortunately it does not suit my binoculars. It was a little too big. But it is still better than no protection at all. Must tell you something. I had a horrible dream last night. I lent my Nikon 8x32 SE to a friend. We were out...

    Protection for Nikon 8x32 SE..

Ok, nice! I guess that it takes 4 days (until Wednesday). But, I really have no idea. As I said, just guessing .. :brains:

Nikon ED50: green or black - vote please!

I tested the scope a bit tonight. Optics are very nice, no doubt about it. The 13-40x eyepiece is really good, but the 27xW eyepiece can certainly be the perfect match for ED50. I also have the 16xW. It´s useful, but the 27xW should definitely be a more all-round eyepiece. Tomorrow, I will...

Nikon ED50: green or black - vote please!

I have now picked up the package. It was surprisingly large, but the cause of it was, of course, that the scope was so carefully packaged. When I opened it I could scarcely believe what I saw. I had expected a small scope, but not so tiny. Not as plastic as I expected, either. I´m also pleased...

I´m in shock. Just got a text message saying that the package containing the ED50 is already here. Incredibly fast delivery! :-)

Nikon ED50: green or black - vote please!

If the image correspond well with reality, I must say that it´s actually quite nice! I think I may wait to create me an idea of the look until it has been delivered.. :eek!:
