Identification
37 cm. Large (around 10 cm larger than the other species of Racquet-tail on Sulawesi), mostly yellowish green parrot with pale bill. May show tail spatules or racquets.

- nape, chest and rest of underparts paler, tawny golden yellow to yellowish (see gender differences)

Male:
- crown with red spot placed forward on blue patch
- nape, mantle, chest deeper tawny golden
- tail racquets long

- crown with no blue/red (green)
- nape, mantle, chest paler more yellow
- tail racquets medium (sometimes short)
Distribution
Endemic to northern Sulawesi, Bangka, Lembeh and Togian islands. Lowlands. South East Asia: Indonesia: Greater Sundas.

Habitat
Mid-storey lowland and hill forest.
Behaviour
They gather in fruit trees.
They nest in cavities in the rootball of arboreal epiphytic ferns. Both parents care for the young.
