Identification
Distribution
Endemic to Peru, on the eastern slopes of the Andes, south of the Río Marañon.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Has in the past considered to be conspecific with Long-tailed Tapaculo.
Habitat
In montane forest, between 1000 and 2600 masl. Usually in dense understorey, like other tapaculos.
