Alternative names: Island Flycatcher; Island Verditer Flycatcher; Turqoise Warbling-flycatcher
Includes: Wallacean Warbling-flycatcher
- Eumyias panayensis
Identification
Distribution
Endemic to Southeast Asia: found in the Philippines, Indonesia, Greater Sundas, Moluccas
Taxonomy
Reference [4] notes that Moluccan taxa (subspecies septentrionalis, meridionalis, obiensis, harterti) were long treated as distinct from those in the Philippines. There are both vocal and plumage differences. It suggests elevating these as "Wallacean Warbling-flycatcher", E. septentrionalis.
Subspecies
Clements recognises the following subspecies [1]:
- E. p. septentrionalis: "Wallacean Warbling-flycatcher". Montane forests of north-central and south-eastern Sulawesi
- E. p. meridionalis: "Wallacean Warbling-flycatcher". Montane forests of southern Sulawesi
- E. p. obiensis: "Wallacean Warbling-flycatcher". Montane forests of Obi (southern Moluccas)
- E. p. harterti: "Wallacean Warbling-flycatcher". Montane forests of Seram (southern Moluccas)
- E. p. nigrimentalis: Northern Philippines (montane forests of Luzon and Mindoro)
- E. p. panayensis: Central Philippines (montane forests of Negros and Panay)
- E. p. nigriloris: Southern Philippines (montane forests of Mindanao)
Subspecies sanghirensis is no longer recognised [2]. Clements provisionally assigns an undescribed subspecies from Taliabu in the Sula Islands to septentrionalis (references [1], [3])

Mountain forests above 800 m
